Exhaust gas detection fiber optic sensor
Using well established techniques in novel ways, EU-funded researchers developed a fibre-optic–based exhaust sensor. The innovative technology provides drivers with real-time feedback regarding a number of important pollutants. Gone are the days of the single-car family. The development of a mid-infrared optical fibre based sensor suitable for the detection of automotive emissions is discussed in this paper.
